Fun With Spiral Slicing

Spiralslicer_2 Yesterday I purchased a new toy. Who doesn’t love a new kitchen toy? I have wanted a spiral slicer for a very long time now, and my dream finally came true. I purchased this little beauty at Polster Restaurant Supply (585 S. High St, Columbus) for $28.95, and I have to say, it seems like a good investment so far. The slicer has 4 suction cup feet that really grip onto the counter; there was no sliding or wobbling at all. And it cut wonderfully long ribbons of everything I threw at it, with the exception of mini carrots. But I guess I should have known better. . .

Slicingcuke_2 Look at the pretty cucumber ribbons!  Recipe follows in next post.
