May 5th/Cinco d'Ohio Market Report
Alas, I arrived at the market a little early to enjoy any of the festivities, but it looked like it was shaping up to be a fun day, if a little drizzly. Every cleared up for Gallery Hop and the crowds were in the Short North for the evening. It was a fun atmosphere, especially for people visiting Columbus.
I didn't buy a lot of things at this week's market, but I did find a few gems. Special thanks to Combs Herbs for bringing me some ramps and selling them to me for a song!
Here are a few other things I picked up - see if you can read my mind . . .
From Wishwell Farms, finally some asparagus!! And also, a jar of their yummy hot relish. I'm probably the only person who would recommend it poured over drained, canned tuna, preferably still in tin. Ah, well.
From North Market Poultry and Game, wild boar bacon. If you haven't tried it, you should. I also picked up some eggs:
