Okay, someone else sort of came up with that name (thanks, DW!), but I like the way it invokes a thought of a family cooking and eating together - like in Soul Food.
First of all, someone has offered us a GREAT location. I couldn't have asked for anything better. It will be absolutely perfect and I know you will love it, too. I am working hard on a menu and I think I've secured some great recruits to help out.
Thank you to everyone who has expressed interest in attending. So many, in fact, that I am going to create a lottery system. I will email everyone who has emailed me by this Thursday. That will give everyone a chance to let me know if you can come on June 8th or not, and then I will draw names. Those who are wait-listed will be given first crack at the July dinner.
I will be setting up a password-protected PayPal site where you can pay your fee. I would ask that you pay by June 2nd, which will give me time to pay for my goods and will give me plenty of notice to invite a waitlisted guest if someone has to cancel.
