I woke to a rare near-perfect day here in Central Ohio, and as I was sitting and writing my market report with all of the windows and doors open, enjoying the breeze, I decided it was the perfect day to play a tourist and head to the North Market. Somehow, probably with the promise of lunch at Lac Viet I lured Husband into joining me.
After enjoying a #10 (hold the cilantro, please) and an iced Vietnamese coffee (sure to jolt me into awakeness), Husband wandered off to do some studying, and I spent money on crafty things. First up, I stopped by Sweet Stella to chat with Amy, who chastised me for not putting up my apron pictures. I promised to put them up on Monday, so now I'll have everyone chastising me if I don't do it. If you received an Ohio Love button from me at the Apron Gala, this is who I purchased them from. I bought this fabulous little cupcake pin - although I agonized over a super cute smores pendant (alas, not pictured on the etsy shop).
I love Clinton Reno's posters (you've no doubt seen them all of the North Market for their events, as well as many shows around town and beyond). I even bought Husband this Ted Leo & the Pharmacists print, even though I'd rather stick needles into my ear drums repeatedly than listen to them. It's nothing against you, Ted, it's just that I have this problem where catchy music wheedles its way into my brain and then grows, tumor-like, until I can't even sleep at night. I can always tell if Husband is mad at me, because he will pop in a Ted Leo CD when we are driving. I'm probably weird but I bought this particular print selection because it has some extra ink on the corner:
I also loved this pair of The Decemberists show prints:
I bought this really cool twisted glass pin from XO Designs:
and I bought these lovely magnets (a mere $2 each) from Crafty Beavers, and had a stroke of magnet-related brilliance. More later:
I really wanted to buy some Aline Yamada prints, which I love, but by then I was running low on cash and my debit card was buried in the depths of my backpack, but I am going to buy some soon. And then get them framed immediately (I am very bad at getting artwork framed):
I was a little disappointed to hear that attendance was lower than last month's event, but hopefully it got more crowded as the afternoon went on, because it was a fun way to help support local artisans. So go next month!
Here are a few more pics . . .
There was a table from Wholly Craft!, featuring lots of purses, paper crafts, and Take Wrning pendants:
Clinton Reno's booth:
I love these quirky dolls & plushies from L. Cabanero Designs:
I also ogled some wrist bands and tees from Bootleg, but I had spent enough money. Have to have something to look forward to next time!
North Market Artisan Sundays take place the first Sunday of the month, noon - 5pm.
