And the winner is, Elizabeth! with #48! Congratulations, Elizabeth!! Everyone else, don't fret, we're getting to you!
Our second birthday giveaway is a book! I loved this book, and recently recommended it to a college professor teaching a writing class. I reviewed the book here, and I loved it. I think it's interesting, because writers have a tendency to have been loners for most of their lives, so being intimate with eating alone is not surprise.
I hated eating alone when I was in middle school, and I think I might have been so skinny because when no one will let you eat at their lunch table, you always end up eating with a lump in your throat, and it's hard to swallow your food. It was forever ago and I'm not looking for sympathy or anything, because it's made me who I am, but it definitely changes one's perspective on eating alone. I know lots of people who would never go to dinner alone, but I actually enjoy it. I can get whatever I want.
I just re-read my review, and have decided to throw in Amanda Hesser's Cooking for Mr. Latte, just for good measure (I hated the book, and, by proxy, Ms. Hesser. I can't stand anyone who stands by petty, pointless, elitist judgments); you can read the review if you can't remember when I compared the two.
This was a reviewer's edition and might contain errors, and I believe the page numbers are a little wonky.
So, this is how it will go: please pick a number between 1-50. If your number has already been selected (and I promise to be more vigilant about it this time!!), I will add one.
