Things to do in Columbus::September 4th Edition
Wow, for the first time in awhile I don't have the first event! But don't fear, I do have my own events coming up. We're working on solidifying a few things.
As always, please add your own events in the comments, as I am sure to have missed a few things. I think these first few weeks of the school year are always a little light on events.
- So, our first event this week is Friday's Columbus Food & Wine Affair, which takes place this Friday night. It just ocurred to me that I have to find something pretty to wear. Hm. Tickets are $100 and includes tons of wine and food. It's always a great event, and the Conservatory has undergone lots of fun changes.
- This Saturday is the Gallery Hop in the Short North. I always say that if you are new to Columbus, this is a great way to get out there and see what the city has to offer, and maybe even meet people.
- The Evenings with Authors Series continues at the Thurber House with AJ Jacobs, author of The Year of Living Biblically. I'm not usually one for those "Year of" books, but Mr. Jacobs wrote a great book called the Know it All, and he's very funny.
- This weekend is Oktoberfest, which seems strange, because September has only just begun. But who am I to judge? Oktoberfest features beer. And probably lots of pork products. I have never been, and I have to work this weekend, so I doubt this year will be any different.
- As part of Oktoberfest, there will be another Waterfire on the Mile event.
- Next weekend is the OEFFA Local Harvest Dinner at the Worthington Inn. This is a great event which showcases the talents of some of Columbus' best chefs. There will be 4 courses of great local food. This event is on a Sunday, so I think I'm going to try to make it! Hopefully I'll see you there!
- This Sunday is the Columbus Postcard, Paper and Book show at Vet's Memorial. I love all of those things, but their website is a little lacking in information, so I can't really tell if these are new things? Vintage?

Another event this weekend is the hot times festival - I haven't been to it before but gather it is like a mini comfest?!
