There are so many events coming up that I am certain to miss a few, so please do not hesitate to email me to remind me of something you told me about that I've forgotten!
- First up, I have a few seats left for my dinner, so if you've been procrastinating, the time to sign up is now!
- Tomorrow at Wild Goose Creative (Summit just south of Hudson), celebrate the harvest at Third Thursdays. There will be pumpkin carving and live performances.
- This Saturday is the Ohioana Day Celebration at the Statehouse, and the evening before is a gala event at the Riffe Center. In case you aren't familiar, the Ohioana Library celebrates all sorts of Ohio artists.
- The Wexner Center will host innovative filmaker Phil Solomon this weekend. Included in screenings of his films is one which tells a story completely by using frames taken from the video game Grand Theft Auto.
- This weekend at the Thurber House, the Evenings with Authors series presents crime writer Michael Connelly. You know what? It's pretty shameful that I have never been to the Thurber House. I mean, I'm a "writer" living in Central Ohio. One of these days, when someone pays me to ghost write their cookbook and I don't have to wait tables at night, I'm going to go to all of these sorts of events. In a parallel universe, where I went to law school like I was thinking of doing in '02, I become a super cool ADA and then have a bestselling career in writing crime fiction. Or, perhaps go crazy halfway through law school, a possibility I saw while studing for the LSAT. I'm pretty sure I'm much happier writing about food.
- Tomorrow is another Third Thursday in the Short North. Unlike the Gallery Hop, which is devoted to art, Third Thursday is devoted to shopping in the Short North. Stores stay open later.
- Starting today and contiuing through the weekend is the Circleville Pumpkin show! Celebrate all things pumpkin!
- This weekend is Agora V at Junctionview Studios in Grandview. Agora is a large art show/open house. There are upwards of 50 artists showing work and working on new works at the studio, which has lots of space for artists to work. You can wonder through the building and see artists at work. Yet another super cool event I'll be working through...
