Just a reminder to order by Wednesday (or at the very latests, 10am Thursday morning). I WILL be adding Vanilla beans. Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla beans. I am also going to get in a few Ugandan beans to see how they match up. Some people think they are superior. I believe the vanilla beans will be around $2 each, but I will have to recalculate when they arrive, since I don't know how many there will be.
My awesome friend Cari made me a super cool new order sheet, which adds things up for you! thanks chica!!
***I am adding quinoa - $4/pound*** Attached to this post is an order form listing everything I will have for the first buy. Don't worry if you can't make the pickup date; I'm sure we can work that out.
How it will work:
- Read the list
- Ask any questions if you would like
- Download Copy of bulk-club-order-form-october
- write in the quantity you desire in the "quantity" column
- if you would like 1/2 pounds, please circle the lower price
- save the form
- email it back to me, along with any questions you have
- add up your total
- pay through the tip jar ("support RW" button top left corner) or let me know on your email that you will pay when you pick up
- wait anxiously!
- pick up your order at Wild Goose on Thursday, October 22nd between 2pm and 6pm!
I know some expressed interest in flour and sugar, but I couldn't find any that I thought would really save money; if we are successful, I will add some specialty flours and sugars; I will keep looking for a good price.
**I will add vanilla beans if there is enough interest. It is a very expensive investment. If I have enough people pre-pay, I will add it to my order. There will be a substantial savings on vanilla beans vs. buying them retail, so please let me know if you are interested.***
I am assuming there will be some extras which I will bring with me at the pickup, so you can always buy something extra when you pick up your order.
An explanation of the order form: since so many of you have let me know you are in small households, I am going to make many things available by 1/2 pound or the pound (or several pounds, if you like). For those of you with children, I have selected a few healthy snacks which I will pack in 1 ounce bags so that they are ready to go in a lunch box (this is way cheaper than buying pre-packed snacks at the grocery store!)
Here are the items for the first shop, along with the prices. If you find any of the prices out of line, please let me know and I will try to find a less expensive option.
I will have recipe ideas for you if you need them - a lot of you said you didn't know what to do with beans, but I will be able to give you some ideas, and if anyone has recipes they love, please feel free to bring them to exchange or email them to me and I will put up a "reader recipe" post.
Items will be packaged: in heat-sealed zip-top bags (freezer safe weight), ounce-packaged items will be packed in lighter zip-top bag (not heat sealed). You may also choose to purchase reusable microwave safe, dishwasher safe plastic containers, or you may bring your own containers; save 10 cents/pound by supplying your own containers.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
