I received a text with the details, and then was forwarded this email. For those of you Smackies fans, you can taste the one and only this weekend (today is the last day) at the corner of Pacemont & High in Clintonville. here is the email "press release" from owner James Anderson:
Got the following info via email from Smackies BBQ owner James Anderson the other day: I have opened three restaurants and I have closed them all. I couldn’t seem to get my blood pressure down and closing the restaurant I think has finally got me nice and calm and I think my blood pressure is right where it needs to be. The restaurant biz will make a old man out of a young man really fast. So I have went back to my roots. ONE MAN - ONE SMOKER. I have no restaurant and no staff to babysit. Just me and my Pit, back to the basics. So, I will work festivals and roadside stands cooking on my pit and to start off I will be at Pacemont & High this weekend. I will be serving my meats and homemade sides, and I will also introduce a sauce I have been working on for a few months called Sweet & Sexy. Its a little hot, sweet, tangy, fruity, thick, and full of flavor. This recipe is for the upcoming 2010 Columbus Jazz and Ribfest. It is very special, you have to try it. The meats this weekend will be smoked with Sugar Maple, a special delivery from the wood guy. Please forward this information to your friends in the neighborhood so I can start my new project off right. And thanks a lot- I hope to see you sometime this weekend…. Pacemont & High
Hours: Friday, Saturday & Sunday 12-9pm
