Today is the last day to vote for my friend Richie's oyster essay at Bourdain's Medium Raw website. It takes seconds and you can login through facebook. He is currently 19th out of 1600 something. Vote until 5pm! Mr. Bourdain will personally select the winning entry, but voting is still fun.
Richie is a restaurant friend of mine from way back when; he became my hero for decorating his apartment with framed rejection letters he has received over the years. His devotion to cheap vodka ("i'll have your cheapest vodka on you most expensive rocks" is his drink order) is also endearing, and of course if you read the essay, you can see he's a great writer.
